What?
This project is a photographic documentation of a full Formula 1 weekend at the Red Bull Ring, covering everything from top-tier racing like Formula 1, 2, and 3 to the Porsche Supercup and historic racing cars. Facing limited trackside access from the public grandstands, the series focuses on capturing the dynamic motion of the cars alongside the massive, electric crowds that define the event’s atmosphere.

How?
To bring out the character and speed of the cars, I relied heavily on slow shutter speeds and strict panning techniques, keeping the vehicles sharp while blurring the background into streaks of colour.
Coping with the restrictive fences and vantage points required using the environment as a creative asset, intentionally incorporating foreground and background elements to frame the cars and add depth.
Beyond the track action, I turned my lens toward the grandstands to capture the abstract patterns formed by the massive crowds, translating the weekend’s energy into static frames.
Learnings.
Restricted access can actually push visual creativity further than having total freedom of movement. Whittling down 900 raw captures to a definitive edit of 27 frames proved that patience and a ruthless selection process are key to a cohesive photo series. I learned that capturing the true essence of a major racing event requires looking away from the track just as often as focusing on it, as the surrounding crowds carry just as much narrative weight as the cars themselves.
