I had the chance to attend the 19th Annual Arosa Classic Car event in Arosa, Switzerland, for just one day, focusing on capturing stunning shots of classic cars in action. The main goal was to bring out the essence of these iconic vehicles, highlighting their design and movement.

How?
To achieve dynamic shots, I focused on utilizing the panning effect, a technique that allows the subject to remain sharp while the background becomes blurred, emphasizing motion. The key challenge was setting the correct focus point while maintaining the right timing to capture the cars at just the right moment as they raced by.
I used a high shutter speed to capture the crispness of the cars while the surrounding environment melted into motion, creating a sense of speed and excitement.
Learnings.
One of the key lessons I took away from this experience was the importance of patience and precision when working with moving subjects. Getting the right balance between focus and motion blur can be tricky, but with practice, the results are well worth the effort. The panning technique proved challenging but rewarding, teaching me how to better capture fast-moving subjects with a dynamic, artistic flair.
